Speaker:

Chelsea Steele is a visionary executive, organizational strategist, and storyteller who believes leadership is about having the courage to reimagine what is possible. With more than 15 years of executive experience spanning healthcare and nonprofit leadership, she brings a distinctive combination of operational discipline, entrepreneurial instinct, and a commitment to purpose. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in a fundamental belief: the measure of a leader is not simply what they accomplish, but what becomes possible for others because they led.

As President and CEO of ABC of Southwest TX, Chelsea leads an organization serving children and families facing serious health and developmental challenges across 17 counties in Central and Southwest Texas. Previously serving as Chief Impact Officer at ABC, her career also includes executive leadership roles at Elite Nurses, City Year, The Children’s Shelter, NurseCore, and MOSAIC. Across these organizations, she has championed operational excellence, revenue growth, team development, and mission-driven transformation. She approaches leadership with the conviction that sustainability and compassion are not competing priorities, but they are inseparable responsibilities.

In 2026, ABC received Best Place to Work recognition and an Impact Award from the San Antonio Business Journal. Chelsea received the Rising Star Award from the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a Global Recognition Award recognizing her visionary leadership from GRS. Earlier career honors include MVP recognition at MOSAIC and top sales performance for her NurseCore territory during COVID in 2021.

Holding an MBA, Chelsea is also a published poet, playwright, and actress. Her 2023 poetry collection, Heart of Desire, reflects the depth of her creative perspective and her belief that the most meaningful stories are often born from resilience, vulnerability, and the courage to begin again. She brings this same imagination to leadership, seeing possibility where others see limitations and human potential where others see problems to solve.

Yet, Chelsea measures success by more than titles, awards, or organizational milestones. Her greatest role is being a mother to Lily, Everly, Emmylou, and Wylder, and to Yuval, whom she carried as a surrogate. Her husband, Robert, has been her steadfast supporter and partner throughout her journey. Family grounds her understanding of sacrifice, strength, and the profound responsibility leaders carry toward the people who depend on them.

Chelsea leads with the belief that bold vision must be matched by courageous action, that success means little if it does not create opportunity for others, and that the strongest leaders leave more than a legacy. They leave people, institutions, and communities better equipped to thrive long after they are gone.
